Welcome to my Homepage!

On this homepage you will find information about my Soft- and Hardwareprojects for several computer systems. The navigation bars on the left and top will bring you directly to the different topics. The language selection between German and English is done automatically if your browser is properly configured; should you prefer another language, please click on the desired flag on the top-right.

Please also sign my Guestbook. Accolade and criticism is highly welcome. I will try to improve the content of this homepage according your suggestions. I would be also happy to get feedback regarding my projects - what do you like/dislike and what do you want to see in the future?

But now I wish you much fun by searching about these pages!

My first creation using GarageBand...
Yesterday afternoon I bought Apple's great software package iLife 04 containing among some other cool stuff the new software GarageBand. I wondered about what a musically totally unskilled guy like me could do with it... I have to say, for my programmers hands :-) it doesn't sound that bad... if you want to judge yourself, download it here: SecondRhythms.mp3 (8.9MB)
The name was chosen because it was my second project file... the first one noone really wants to listen to... ;-)
I would highly appreciate becoming feedback!

A tubes amplifier for relaxation...
tubes at night

Versuchsaufbau
When you have heavy stress in your daily life, a nice and warm open fire can bring an excellent relaxation. Due to the lack of a fireplace and a fire I decided to cope with stress electronically:
By using a selfmande tubes amplifier (it does glow at least)! ;-)

On the left you can see the first minutes of my prototype.
The sound quality surely cannot compete with high-end amplifiers but it is enormous impressive, though.

At the beginning, it showed a noticeable noise which I could track down to a tendence to oscillate at VHF at about 110MHz. After suppressing this characteristic, the amplifier now produces a crystal clear signal!

I'm looking forward to enjoy MP3s at evenings in the future!

BTW: 18 watts of power is needed to heat the tubes alone!! ;-)

Change of my web hoster
Within the next few days, this website will be transferred to a new web hoster. Of course, in theory, the transition should happen without much problems - but we all know Murphy's law...
So if you encounter page downtimes or bounced mails, please try again later...
Many thanks for you patience!

Update:
The transition was done without problem or any time offline!

microwave
Not recommended for reproduction... ;-)
BANG!
As it should sufficiently be known, I am a fan of strange experiments - that means small things with a great effect... Because of that, I became anxiously to do something with a lamp which sayed goodbye with a small >Plopp<...

As I'm a fan of plasma light effects and because I already have reached great results with coils in the microwave field to produce large sparks (I also succeeded to make other things to send out light, too...), the idea was not too far away: that lamp had to be tested in my microwave oven...
Hmm... what shall I say: the plasma light I have reached in this experiment was the best I have ever seen in my microwave. However, after about 3 seconds of operation (at 70Watts of microwave power), the fulminant joy of light found an end with a last and final (but much more fulminant...) big bang which unfortunately for sure did disturb the sleep of some inhabitants here in Gerlingen... ;-)

Fascinating how robust the construction of those microwave oven doors are... ;-)

This experiment is explicitely not recommended for reproduction!!!

Off Topic: Chris Kennedy's CD "Change Of Heart" now available!
During my studies in Regensburg, I met a remarkable student from Great Britain who had astonishing capabilities in terms of music - Chris Kennedy. Together with my best friend Roland Menzel, they recorded and mastered a CD full of really cool music done at several locations.
Note that it is not a usual thing that I post off-topic stuff here, but this music is really very professional and I hope that my friend Chris gets some more fans when publishing this news here... ;-)
Just have a look at Chris' page and decide yourself!

Article about AmiDock and application.library publically available
In february 2003 I wrote an article about the features of my projects AmiDock and application.library which will be included in AmigaOS4.0 for the "Club Amiga" magazine. Amiga Inc. decided to make this article now also publically accessible for other readers.
You can access it over the title link; I hope you enjoy the reading... :-)

... arrived in Gerlingen!
Gerlingen - arrived
Two weeks after arriving in Gerlingen (a nice little town very near Stuttgart, Germany), I wanted to let you know that things are stabilizing and the stress of the moves Regensburg -> parent's home -> Gerlingen more and more goes away.
On tuesday I will have worked for my employer Endress+Hauser Conducta for already two weeks now... ;-)
Things are nice and cool here in Gerlingen but I still need a bit time for acclimating.

Now I have to find a rhythm again to answer my floods of emails and to work (of course a bit more slowly than before) on my projects.
You can find the updated contact addresses on my about page.

Goodbye Regensburg...
Goodbye Regensburg
On 2003-02-28, my last day in Regensburg was over. As my future living- and working-location will be Stuttgart, I had to relutantly leave Regensburg. As I've found very good friends there, a last joint 'goodbye-meal' was unalterable... I again want to thank all my friends in Regensburg for the fantastic time!!

Note: Although I'm out of Regensburg, I'm definitely not out of world! ;-)

Important:  My address and phone number used in Regensburg is not valid, anymore!
After finishing my move to Stuttgart, I will provide updated contact data.

Furthermore I want to apologize myself for any delays which may happen in answering enquiries.
Thank your for your understanding!
